PACK OF 5 TULIP BULBS
The bright & cheery Jan van Nes (Tulipa hybrida) is the perfect yellow to warm you up from the Winter chill and celebrate the beginning of Spring.
This late-season tulip’s blooms are very long lasting.
Growing tulips in southwest Victoria, is relatively easy. Our region's climate, with its cool winters and mild summers, is ideal for tulip cultivation, as tulips thrive in environments where the winter chill is long enough to trigger their dormancy cycle.
For the best results, plant tulip bulbs in well-drained soil with a sunny spot, ensuring the ground is prepared by adding organic matter to enhance drainage.
Tulips should be planted in late autumn, around May, so they can establish their roots before the colder winter months. Ensure they’re spaced about 10 to 15 cm apart, with the pointed end facing upward, and buried at a depth of 10 to 15 cm.
Tulips require regular watering but be cautious of overwatering, as their bulbs are susceptible to rot. In early spring, they will begin to bloom, creating a stunning display of colour.
